The enthusiasm of several tour guides, the desire for knowledge, to socialize and also the need for a database with the names of guides, prompted us in the spring of 2005 to embark on an adventure called the "Association of Tourist Guides Pula".
With the support of the Tourist Board in Pula, as a co-founder, our aim was to gather fellow guides from not only the City of Pula but the whole of the Istrian region, to provide additional education through various seminars and lectures and to safeguard the profession.
We work together with our close associates, the Archaeological Museum of Istria, the Historical and Maritime Museum of Istria, who participate in our projects as co-organizers.
In co-operation with the Pula Tourist Board, we have organized free guided tours for people who work in tourism throughout the whole of the Istrian region and also brought Pula closer to our youngest citizens so that our members guided hundreds of children from schools in Pula as part of the project "School children, get to know your City".
A dozen of our members have successfully completed theoretical and practical training for working with blind and visually impaired people. We are proud to say that we are the first Guide Association in Croatia whose members have undergone this professional education so they are able to conjure up for their groups vivid descriptions of the world of around them in the most appropriate way possible.
Most important of all, we provide the highest quality of service for our visitors to Pula and Istria so they are able to happily and contentedly move on to their next destinations..(with memories which will last forever).
